My story.
Hey! I'm Denys and I grew up in Ukraine. I didn’t know what design was back then, but my favourite toy was LEGO – I loved building things from scratch.
I always dreamed of living abroad, so at 15, I moved by myself to Poland to study. That’s where I discovered frontend – HTML, CSS, a bit of JavaScript. I didn’t love the coding part, but I liked making things feel clean and easy to use. Then I found Figma and no-code tools and that’s when it thought – I could build without writing code.
I really loved it and was learning everyday – YouTube, great mentors, trying things, failing, improving. I did my first projects for fake clients and worked for free just to get better. Step by step, that turned into freelance work in 2020, and explaining what I do for a living to my family.
Right about the time, when my family understood (most part) my job description I was already working I mostly worked with Russian clients. But when the full-scale war started, I cut ties immediately. That moment pushed me to learn English and start freelancing for the western market. I began posting my work on Dribbble, and soon, a company from Luxembourg, PM-International, reached out. Then came more clients from Luxembourg, Germany, the U.S., and even China.
In 2023, PM-International (the #6th biggest direct selling company in the world) offered me a full-time position in Luxembourg. Currently leading a full e-commerce redesign for 800,000+ montly visitors in 45+ countries. I handle everything from UI, UX, dev handoff to stakeholder reviews. So far this is a great challenge.
For me, design isn't just how it looks – it’s how it works, how it feels, and how it solves the right problem.

Design Mentor at Svitlo.Education
Remote
March 2023 - November 2023
Mentored 25 students who also had recorded lessons from the online school, providing additional guidance and feedback as they developed two real concepts for their portfolios. It was a really nice experience, watching them improve every call we had. I also learned a lot in the process of giving feedback :) Some of the work done by students: https://www.behance.net/SvitloEducation
